Underutilized spaces represent a loss of financial resources and opportunities to assist more patients or install new technologies. For hospital and health systems, the distinctive clinical and non-clinical workspaces present unique challenges to optimizing existing spaces. The first presentation will focus on strategies optimizing support services spaces, including moving support services outside the main hospital and decommissioning spaces. The second presentation will cover strategies for optimizing clinical spaces, including sterile reprocessing, multi-purpose ORs, and communicating data effectively. Time- and cost-saving plans including modular construction and prefabrication will also be discussed. Learn how to optimize your existing space in clinical and non-clinical settings for maximum efficiency across the hospital or health system.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the benefits of repurposing underutilized space in clinical and non-clinical settings.
2. Evaluate case studies of success space optimization by leading health systems and hospitals.
3. Identify opportunities to utilize real-time data to communicate effectively with multiple teams.
4. Describe ways to increase collaboration and innovation through optimal workspaces.
