Katherine Anderson, MPH, CIC is an Infection Preventionist at ECRI with experience in infection control and employee health in various healthcare settings, including hospitals and government. She began her career in Houston, Texas where she managed infection prevention programs for two rehabilitation hospitals. Her career moved her to Salt Lake City, Utah in late 2019 where she worked as the Infection Prevention and Employee Health Manager for a rapidly growing acute care facility in northern Utah County. Prior to joining ECRI, Katherine worked for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) as an Infection Prevention Subject Matter Expert for schools and childcare settings across the state. At CDPHE, she created COVID-19 related guidance and provided consultations to various stakeholders, such as childcare facilities, Kindergarten through grade-12 schools, and institutions for higher education. She currently is an Infection Preventionist at ECRI and serves as the product manager for ECRI’s Healthcare Environmental Manager (HEM) certification and Infection Control Risk Assessment for Construction (ICRA) course. While always seeking to expand her infection control expertise, her main areas of interest include worker safety and preventing infections that emerge from facility construction, as well as HVAC and water systems. Katherine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and History, Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, and is currently in school for her Master of Business Administration in Technology Management. She has been certified in Infection Control (CIC) since 2019.
