Infrastructure Capital Renewal – It’s All About RISK!
The financial challenges in the health care industry, the complexity of health care facilities and systems, and the inevitable financial and physical depreciation of those systems over time presents a continual challenge to hospital leadership. Infrastructure asset depreciation
increases RISK to the organization as measured financially with unplanned repair and
replacement, and clinically through degradation of the environment of care. This situation will be made even more difficult given the financial impacts of COVID-19. How much should you be spending to maintain your facility and mitigate RISK? Join this session to learn more.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Agree that the facility leadership team has the responsibility to identify capital requirements and teach the C-Suite about the RISK of Inaction.
2. Describe and define ongoing capital needs, and own the tough role of communicating RISK, with credibility, to the C-Suite.
3. Provide and review a specific task list that can be used to assess the maturity of a Health System and determine how to engage.
4. Provide a real-world example of how a comprehensive asset management framework links operational spend to capital needs.
